<p>A series of 3-4 lessons designed at introducing <em>Of Mice &amp; Men</em>. The focus of these resources is for students to learn the context of behind the novella.</p> <p>These lessons cover:</p> <ul> <li>An introduction to Steinbeck with an introduction to the novella’s key themes</li> <li>An overview of <em>To a Mouse</em>, Robert Burns</li> <li>A glance at the concept of the American Dream</li> <li>A research task focussed on the key contextual areas: The Roaring 20s; The Wall Street Crash; The Great Depression; The Dust Bowl.</li> </ul> <p>This unit is aimed at Year 8 / 9 students as a creative introduction to Steinbeck.</p>
