<p>A script for a class assembly about respect. This script was written for a class of 19 (Year 3) with each child having multiple parts but could easily be adapted for more students or at a younger or higher age.</p> <p>The script is structured with the students role-playing a range of different scenarios in school where respect isn’t being shown. In each scenario, superheroes (The Respectables!) turn up to give advice to the audience, rewind the scene and replay it in a respectful way.</p>

<p>This is a story-based script to help teach schools about Mindfulness. The script is suitable for around 28 children although could easily be adapted for more or less children. The script includes information about how the brain works, playground situations, managing our emotions and exercises that can help us. It is also linked to the ‘Belly breathe’ song from Sesame Street.</p>

<p>A 4-week writing sequence, aimed at Year 4 students, based on the book ‘The Great Kapok Tree’ by Lynne Cherry, which was linked to our overarching ‘Rainforest’ topic.</p> <p>The planning includes weekly lesson planning templates, lesson powerpoints and supporting resources for individual lessons.</p> <p>Grammar objectives, such as writing and punctuating direct speech, expanded noun phrases and fronted adverbials, are embedded into the planning and lessons to be taught contextually.</p> <p>The final outcome requires the students to create their own adapted version of the story, using a similar structure to The Great Kapok Tree.</p>

<p>A 4-week writing sequence, aimed at Year 4 students, based on the book ‘Where the forest meets the sea’ by Jeannie Baker, which was linked to our overarching ‘Rainforest’ topic.</p> <p>The planning includes weekly lesson planning templates, lesson powerpoints and supporting resources for individual lessons.</p> <p>Grammar objectives, such as, synonyms, possessive apostrophes, third person perspective and paragraphs, are embedded into the planning and lessons to be taught contextually.</p> <p>The planning also makes use of the engaging book/video of ‘There’s a Rang-tan in my bedroom’.</p> <p>The final outcome requires the students to create a letter, using persuasive writing techniques that they have learnt during the unit.</p>

<p>A week-long project for students to collaborate in groups to design a new eco-friendly theme park.</p> <p>The project includes sections on:</p> <ul> <li>theme park design, using a set budget (maths)</li> <li>branding (art)</li> <li>advertising &amp; marketing (art &amp; English)</li> <li>sustainable energy sources (science)</li> <li>presentation (speaking &amp; listening)</li> </ul> <p>The project finishes with the students presenting their proposal to a panel of esteemed judges (from your school), who judge the presentation against a set of criteria.</p> <p>Suitable for an end of term/year project or a theme week challenge.</p>

Here is a worksheet I created using the typical pyramid format that requires children to multiply fractions to fill in the missing bricks. The pyramids increase in difficulty, including requiring the children to have to work backwards with their calculations to solve the missing fractions on the base level.
