<p>This is a simple activity which relies upon access to computers. I’ve found it to be really good with my Y10 students who have been really engaged by it.</p> <p>Students have to search for a suitable restaurant premises in a local town for the Italian chain, Franco Manca. The search involves:</p> <ol> <li>A numerical question where students calculate the size of property required.</li> <li>Identification of factors that affect location.</li> <li>Research into three suitable properties with an overall conclusion supporting the best option.</li> </ol> <p>I tell my students that they are going to present their results to the Managing Director of the company. This activity takes my students 2 hours to prepare and 1 hour to deliver.</p>
