A lesson introducing comparison of two poems from the OCR Love and Relationships cluster.<br /> <br /> Lesson starts by comparing two images, and then thinking about how to apply this to poetry.<br /> <br /> Students are then asked to make a comparison to two poems from the cluster: 'A Song' and 'A Broken Appointment'.<br /> <br /> There is a model example with a breakdown of how to present a 'good' comparison.

These are 10 sheets, 1 for each of the following:<br /> <br /> `Colons, commas, ellipsis, hyphens, semi-colon and exclamation marks.<br /> <br /> Complex, compound and simple sentence, as well as, embedded clauses.<br /> <br /> The idea is that you can print these out and stick them in students books when marking to make them aware of a punctuation or grammar error. They then complete the task on the sheet to prove that they are responding to feedback and progressing so that they can master this punctuation/grammar construct.<br /> <br /> It can also be used as an extension exercise for able students to be given individual targets during lessons to push themselves. I would recommend using these as an intervention strategy with KS3 and with low-achieving KS4.

Literature circles are student-led reading groups where students take responsibility for their own learning. This includes assigning roles and completing tasks. As this work is independent, it encourages pupils to become more independent readers and develop their own responses to and opinions about texts. <br /> <br /> You will be given booklets with the roles and tasks for the students to complete in their books.
