<p>Two lessons preparing students for the comparative poetry question (AQA Love &amp; Relationships). Lesson one is a more interactive lesson encouraging students to begin thinking about comparisons and lesson two focusses on essay writing skills.</p>

<p>Planned for a top set year 9 group. A lesson which uses the characters and events of An Inspector Calls as inspiration for a creative writing task. Complete with lesson plan that includes breakdown of timings etc.</p>

<p>Planned for low level year 9 lesson observation. Fully differentiated analysis of chapter 4 of Animal Farm. Includes the extract and writing checklist needed for the lesson, as well as a detailed lesson plan. Lesson was graded outstanding.</p>

Two lessons that compliment each other on the issue of gender representation in 'The Hunger Games'. Fully differentiated with writing tasks (and help sheets for the femininity lesson), including my own example answer and example peer assessment. I used for year 8 English (top set), could maybe be used for Media Studies as well.

An essay I wrote for my class to &quot;peer&quot; assess and analyse answering the question: Write about turning points in Silas Marner’s life as presented in the novel. Good for revision of the novel. I was teaching from the Eduqas spec. I have included the extract I was using for my answer as well.

<p>Planned for an observation with top set year 8s, could very easily be adapted for year 9s too. An introduction to war poetry using Jessie Pope’s* Who’s for the Game?* for analysis. Includes powerpoint, differentiated writing frames for varying target grades, a copy of the poem and a detailed lesson plan. Lesson was rated outstanding.</p>

Full lesson encouraging students to identify modern day meanings of Shakespearean quotes, leading them to analyse these meanings. Ends with a scaffolded writing task. Planned originally for year 8s, could be used with year 7s as well.

<p>Lesson and extract designed to analyse the character of Benjamin from Animal Farm. Fully differentiated tasks based on target grades.</p>

<p>Lessons 1 and 2 introducing the character of Scrooge in Stave 1 of A Christmas Carol. Planned for very low level year 8s so much more geared towards KS3 classes.</p>

<p>I have used these to help mark KS3 resources. So instead of writing out the same comment a hundred times, I jot down the EBI code then display these on the board and get the students to write out their own EBIs. Could also be adapted to use as WWWs.</p>

<p>A very student-led lesson! Nothing ground breaking but a nice way to approach a poem to get the students thinking about structure and expanding their annotations. My class enjoyed having a bit more freedom to come up with their own interpretations.</p>

<p>Planned to be used as back up cover work, so would be suitable to set yourself for cover for someone else to teach or if you are supply looking for a safety net! Very basic descriptive writing style tasks, more focussed on trying to keep the students engaged.</p>

<p>30 mins lesson planned for an interview, analysing the language Shakespeare uses in the prologue of R&amp;J. Could be adapted to use as a starter, or added onto for a full lesson’s worth of work.</p>
