A Level Dracula for NEA scheme of work
A 22 lesson fully resourced scheme of work teaching Dracula for the new AQA NEA. I have taught Dracula to the whole class as the compulsory pre-1900 text and have then allowed the class to choose their second text. The scheme focuses on the independent learning of the students and I have taught the themes that might be used as the basis for the NEA rather than teaching the text in its entirety. Themes covered include: gender fluidity; illness, insanity and imprisonment; setting; the gothic male; the gothic genre etc. Resources include: powerpoint lesson, critical and wider reading, example NEAs (AQA) and some work on critical theory. <br />
NB: when teaching the critical theory part of the scheme I have used children's picture books but you could use any text or stimulus. The zip file in the main file contains resources taken from TES.
