A short film to prompt speaking: Material Girl

The present resource is based on a short animated film, ‘Material Girl’, accessed by a link included in some of the slides.

The main outcomes of this lesson are: to learn (or revise) some verbs related to daily routine; to build with them simple sentences in the 3rd person; and, in this way, to tell what happens in the film.

It contains 18 slides, all carefully designed with clear images and text. The tasks are very interactive and many lend themselves well to pair or group work, both in person and online. The teacher may use the visual aids and text boxes in each slide to modify the tasks or add new ones as they see fit.
