The main aim of this lesson is to enable pupils to use sources (included) to assess whether or not Dunkirk was a Triumph or disaster) which is answered in the form of a for /against / conclusion exam question. There is a writing frame provided in the PowerPoint. Also, a table to help organise the sources and an essay structure strip are also included. This lesson starts with three starter questions before introducing tier three vocabulary. There is then a collaborative learning exercise from which pupils provide written response.
This lesson supports both the TEEP and Share/Build/Practice models and ties in to exam skills.
