Melody, Metre and Texture Revision Questions

Appendix C of the Eduqas GCSE Music Spec includes many terms that students need to know, and be able to identify, but which aren’t covered by many of the styles of music studied.

This revision resource brings together every word (apart from “leitmotif” and “thematic”, for obvious reasons!) from three of the sub-menus:

• Melody
• Metre
• Texture

There are 20 questions, totalling 60 marks.

Nearly all of the extracts are from Area of Study 2: Music for Ensemble, and feature a range of music by Toots Thielemans, Norah Jones, Don Ellis, Fauré, John Tavener, Nancy Sinatra, Schubert, and many more.
