El dinero: Money activity on the Hispanic world

A group of people want to donate to various charities in their native countries in the Hispanic world. Write the currency used in the Spanish speaking country using the word bank. Using the internet, find the current conversion rate of the local currency into U.S dollars in numerical form. In the last column, write the person’s nationality in Spanish.

*15 countries included. A structured template is provided for student responses.

Example:

Word bank for currency: Lempira / Peso / Quetzal

(Daniel) La caridad: Una escuela en México.

Template: Amount + Currency in México + U.S dollars + Nationality

Answer key is included on pages 3-4. Students can complete this activity alone or in pairs.
