This resource is designed to run alongside a Film Music scheme of work.
It highlights key musical features of Horror Soundtracks to aide composing in this style, using popular movie examples.
I have used this with a year 9 boys Music Technology class as they compose music to fit a clip of Jack Sparrow’s first entrance in The Pirates of the Caribbean. They sequenced in their ideas to the video synced to a Logic Pro file.
It could easily be adapted for use in a general music class in a standalone film soundtrack composition task.
