Assessment & Exam Technique Resource Pack
Operations, Finance, and Influences & Interdependence

This pack of resources has been made to help students develop their exam technique for GCSE Business (9-1). These resources have been developed following the first set of exams in Summer 2019 – taking into account key points from the mark schemes & examiner reports.

It is primarily written for the OCR (9-1) course, but could easily be used / adapted for other exam boards as it includes most of the usual content for these topics, and similar A01/A02/A03 Assessment Objectives. All resources are in Microsoft Word format (so that you can amend them if you wish).

The following resources are included:
1. Multiple Choice tests: 3 x Multiple Choice tests with model answers (Operations, Finance, and Influences & Interdependence). Also includes a PowerPoint giving top tips for answering multiple choice questions. NB. I have many multiple choice quizzes available on my Kahoot! site (Business_Cleeve) – turn the timer off, set an end date, and the tests will mark themselves!
2. 2-3 point exam questions: 3 x assessments (totalling 10 points each) with model answers (Operations, Finance, and Influences & Interdependence). Also includes a PowerPoint giving top tips for answering 2-3 point questions, showing where A01/2/3 marks will be awarded.
3. 9 point exam questions: 3 x 9 point assessments with model answers (Operations, Finance, and Influences & Interdependence). Also includes a PowerPoint giving top tips for answering 9 point questions, showing where A01/2/3 marks will be awarded.
4. Business 2 Tracker Sheet – a top sheet to record all the grades from these assessments, including any fix-it work. This helps students to identify their strengths / weaknesses.
5. Revision Booklets: 3 x revision booklets for Operations, Finance, and Influences & Interdependence. This helps with basic A01 recall needed for all three assessment types above. Please note: These Revision Booklets are already available in other resource packs I have on TES but I feel they complement the resources here too.

For simplicity, I plan to grade these assessments by the mark that students get – i.e. 6 out of 9 = Grade 6. For info, the actual grade boundaries for 2019 were (average for Business 1 & Business 2 combined): 9 (74%), 8 (69%), 7 (65%), 6 (59%), 5 (54%), 4 (48%), 3 (36%), 2 (25%), 1 (14%).
