Lesson 3 of 12 that links to the English Reformation, beginning with Martin Luther and documenting the changes under the various Tudor monarchs.

This lesson examines the attempts by Henry VIII to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon.

Students will examine:

  • the differences between Catholics and Protestants
  • a video on Henry VIII and his Great Matter
  • a narrative task on Henry VIII and the chronology of his life regarding his marriage to Catherine of Aragon

This is part of a series of lessons that aims to encompass the new 9-1 GCSE skills into Key Stage 3.

Lessons are colourful and engaging and match the content of the new Exploring History textbook from Pearson, although the textbook is not necessary for any of the tasks.
