This How Songs Work booklet is designed to contain all written and practical work for students for an entire Unit of Work.

The booklet starts with some flexible pages for starter activities, which could be retrieval practice, listening etc.

Then, starts to explore Texture and Structure within songs, including looking at different instruments within a whole song.
Students then learn individual parts of the song See You Again by Charlie Puth, with the aim being to construct all of these parts in a group performance for the assessment at the end of the project (FYI The song has been transposed into the key of C major for the purposes of this project). The individual parts learnt includes:

Hook, Chords, Bassline (on guitar - written in TABs), Percussion (e.g. Cajon/drum kit) and Vocals.

There is a success criteria in the back of the booklet and space for individualised feedback for students on a separate page too.

A Knowledge Organiser for the project is on the back page.
