Inspector Calls Tutoring + Revision Pack

This is a complete Inspector Calls resource pack that can be used for either tutoring a student or small group of students, or for self-teaching or revising content.

The pack contains eight complete lessons, which each contain a presentation (10+ slides each), a set of preparation questions and an exam-focused activity, often with sample student essays written by myself or prepared essay plans.

The pack also contains a blank knowledge organiser to use as revision, and a set of revision cards that correspond with the lessons (e.g. matching quotes and analysis).

The lessons are structured as:

1. Introduction to An Inspector Calls, including J.B Priestley’s life and infomation about different performances of the play
2. Mr Birling and War
3. Sheila and Youth
4. Gerald and Gender
5. Mrs Birling and the Welfare State
6. Eric and Religion
7. Eva, Edna and Class
8. The Inspector and the Stage

Lessons 2 through 6 are each structured around 3-4 interpretations of the same character, to help students develop a “conceptual” understanding of the text based on context and Priestley’s method. I have tried to made the contextual references specific, unique and relevant to help students gain as many marks as they can.

All of the files are Powerpoint files, but if you’d prefer a Google docs/slides link, or a PDF, let me know. I make the presentations in Google Slides, so they are formatted for this platform (it’s free!). There are fonts included in the download to help with the formatting.
