Ultimate Rhythm and Melody Booklet

This ultimate Rhythm and Melody Booklet is designed to contain all written and practical activities for an entire unit of work. It is an ideal project for year 7/8 and is a gradual introduction to combining Rhythm and Melody, in unison, then in a pair, then in a group with both rhythmic and melodic instruments.

The booklet contains:
Flexible starter pages for written starter activities
Lesson 1: Recap on staff notation and introduction to Unison.
Lesson 2: Playing a melody in unison.
Lesson 3: Chords/playing chords in unison.
Lesson 4-5: Playing chords and Melody in a pair.
Lesson 6-7: Group Assessment with Chords, Melody and two Percussion instruments.
Includes Success Criteria for Assessment, Homework/Knowledge Quiz and Assessment Page for personalised feedback for students.
This project can be used with Keyboards or Xylophones as the melodic instruments, then two percussion instruments (Cajon and Cowbell is listed but could be substituted for any other instrument)
