Irregular preterit verbs speaking activity

For each irregular verb, create an original question by conjugating the infinitive in the preterit, adding a different subject (person), and 2-3 words. Do not repeat any subject (person). Then, interview a classmate. Be sure that your question makes sense.

*12 verbs included: hacer, querer, venir, andar, estar, poner, poder, saber, tener, decir, traer, conducir

*A structured template is provided to write the questions.

*The template includes question words, the infinitives with their English translation (Ex: hacer: to do), and a different clue word for each question (ayer, anoche etc.)

*A table with irregular preterit stems and verb endings is included for reference.

On pages 3-6: A second set of the same activity is included but with guidelines to use the questions as a written practice. Students will write and answer their own questions. Pages 3-4 have lines for students to write their questions and answers.
