A KS1 history lesson which introduces children to the Great Fire of London unit through examining London in the 1600s. London in the 1600s was a booming place which was coping with a new, larger population. Due to this the streets were crammed and often buildings made out of timber, creating the seeds to the Great Fire. Within this lesson children will look at London, what the housing was like, the way of life, jobs and what fire safety looked like.
