A simple but effective way for students to provide self assessment and peer assessment at the end of a unit of work.

Dev = Developing
Sec = Secure
Ex = Exceeding

ATL

1= Exceeding expectations
2= Meeting expectations
3= Not meeting expectations

Instructions.

  1. Students read the success criteria and think about where they would be on the scale of 0-10.
  2. They then write a sentence which is KIND, HELPFUL and SPECIFIC stating why they are where they are on the scale of 0-10. The statement should highlight the strengths of the work and what they can do to progress up the scale.
  3. They should then pass onto another student who should provide KIND, HELPFUL and SPECIFIC feedback - Maybe whilst listening to a recording of the work.
  4. The teacher should then write a comment and add the DEV, SEC or EX mark
