This resource was designed to support GCSE Music revision for any exam board. It highlights the MATDSHIRT acronym, the corresponding elements, and the main terms / descriptors / symbols for each element. The download contains three files:
- ‘MADTSHIRT Poster’ as PDF.
- ‘MADTSHIRT Poster’ as an editable PowerPoint presentation if you wish to tailor to your needs
- ‘MADTSHIRT Worksheet’ - a version that students when learning about the elements or for revision.
The poster was designed A1 so can be printed at any size without reduction in quality. My pupils also use A3 copies as cribsheets.
The images for intervals in the ‘Harmony’ section indicate the following: M2 - Happy Birthday, M3 - major sound, P4 - Here Comes the Bride, P5 - Star Wars, M6 - My Way (Frank Sinatra), M7 - tense / not quite there, octave - Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
