The students will create a still life from observation by drawing what they physically see in front of them as accurately as they can. They will then pick one of the objects and make them come to life by drawing them in motion. They will invent a background from imagination. This project will help the students develop both observational skills and drawing from imagination and how the 2 worlds can interact to form a hybrid artwork. They will then write a short story of the interaction between the animate and inanimate objects. A learning objective, subject summary and application in real life, materials needed for each student and the step by step directions needed to create this lesson are all detailed in each of my lesson plans.
