This fantastic resource contains one complete practice exam paper and accompanying mark scheme for the Component 1: Understanding Music exam that students will sit as part of the assessment for the AQA GCSE Music (9-1) qualification. The questions are worded in the AQA manner that will suitable prepare students for their examination.
This resource includes one complete practice paper and a comprehensive mark scheme to accompany each of the questions.
The paper contains the AQA specified questions for Section A and Section B. Within Section A you will find two questions from each Area of Study with 20 marks distributed across contextual questions. Section B contains questions based on the four different set works from the AoS.

- A 25 page Practice Paper
- A 30 page Teacher Mark Scheme. This document also contains YouTube links to the recordings used as well as track timings.

– Unfortunately, for reasons of copyright, this resource does not have an accompanying audio CD or sound files. In the Teacher Mark Scheme there are YouTube links to the recordings used and the track timings. For best results teachers can download the tracks and use software to create their own CD to accompany this Practice Exam Paper 1.
This Practice Exam Paper 1 could be used as a mock paper to prepare the Year 11 students for their Component 1: Understanding Music Exam.
This Mock Paper has been updated from the 2018 version to contain updated Section B questions for the 2022 Set Works.
