Present tense verb identification basic practice (-ar, -er, -ir)

For each sentence, complete the table with the following elements: infinitive, subject (person), stem, verb ending, and verb conjugation.

There are 30 sentences total (10 -ar, 10 -er, 10 -ir) with a structured template for students to write in the missing elements.

This practice can be used in Spanish 1 classes when learning how to conjugate verbs. Only regular -ar, -er, -ir verbs are used.

Example:

  1. Yo (hablar) con mi amigo.

Template: Infinitive / Subject / Stem / Verb ending / Verb conjugation

Answer: Hablar / Yo / habl / o/ hablo

Answer key is included on pages 7-12. This practice can be used for classwork, homework, review, study guide, quiz, entry or exit slip (broken up into sections)
