The latest in the new series of PowerPoint resources aimed at assisting teachers with the delivery of the WJEC/Eduqas A-level Business specification (but are suitable for all boards). These slides and hand out are designed to support the delivery of the Component One topic of purchasing. They explain the importance of purchasing and working with suppliers and examine what is meant by stock control. They explain methods of stock control including traditional stock control methods, just-in-time and computerised stock control. This leads on to interpreting stock control diagrams, with a look at re-order levels, lead times, buffer stock and the minimum stock level before concluding with an evaluation of the importance and impact on business of holding too much stock. The slides contain the Quick Fire Five questions and also a practice essay (both with solutions). The pack also contains a free set of student revision notes.
