- how to compose a contrasting chord pattern (relative minor, tonic minor)
- how to perform chords (block, rhythmic, broken, arpeggios, bass notes & inversions)
- what makes an effective melody
- how to compose diatonic melodies
- how to develop and extend a melodic idea (repetition, steps, leaps, addition, subtraction, phrasing, question & answer, chromaticism & sequences)
Topic culminates in performance of composition.

Sorry it is probably us but we did not find this any useful and made our own new scheme of work all over again. The booklet does not match the ppt in the way we expected and students found the lessons less engaging than usual.
