Present subjunctive v Infinitive fill in practice

Complete each set of sentences by filling in the missing elements using the word bank provided. Write your answers in the template provided.

There are 7 sets of sentences. (2 sentences per set)

Note: For the present subjunctive, only regular -ar, -er, -ir verbs are used.

Example:

quiero (2x) / tú / hables / hablar

Subject + introductory verb + infinitive

Yo _______________ + _____________________

Answer: Yo quiero hablar.

Subject + introductory verb + que + present subjunctive verb

Yo _______________ + que (subject 2) ____________ + ____________________

Answer: Yo quiero que tú hables.

Answer key is included on pages 3-4. This practice can be used when students are first learning the difference between subjunctive and infinitive. It can be used for classwork, homework, quiz, entry or exit slip.
