This is a didactic translation (ca. 1350 words) aimed at rendering the English text as close as possible to the original Latin, without being difficult to understand. It could benefit both students and teachers eager to have a better grammatical understanding of Tacitus’ Latin text. It covers roughly half the OCR A-Level Tacitus prescribed text, set for examination in 2025-26, encompassing paragraphs 25, 26, 41, 42, 43, 52, 53. The translation is my own.
