The Manor House- Talk for Writing- Scary tale- Tension and suspense- KS2

A four week Talk for Writing unit based on the model text: The Manor House. Children will learn the model text during the immitation phase as well as study the text structure and features. They will work towards writing their own version of the story with a different setting. Week 3 includes an innovation week based on an abandoned school and the final independent writing based on a cabin in the woods.
Short burst writing tasks based around using features that create tension and suspense!
Comes with 4 weeks of Power Points, a model text and a copy of the box up grid I have used throughout the unit- all are easily editable to suit the needs of your class and many of the slides are useful for screen shotting and printing for use in books. Each day also has a SPaG starter question
For the innovation stage there are small chunks of the model text that are highlighted with areas for the children to consider changing. This can be modelled or edited ina way to suit your teaching style.
