I have been teaching at the high and senior high school/College levels for the past 30 years. I have also taught ESL students both at primary, secondary and senior secondary levels. I am passionate about teaching English, Psychology and Sociology to adolescents. I am also teaching English and SOSE Methods to M.Teach students. Hope you find the resources in my shop useful which have been tested and found to be effective.

This resource enables teachers assist students with their thinking process while reading a text, especially in English Language Arts. Teachers can use the think-aloud procedure to teach students how to direct and monitor their thinking during reading.

As students think aloud, they respond to the text, identify big ideas, ask self-questions, make connections, figure out how to solve problems that may arise and reflect on their use of strategies. This procedure is valuable because students learn to be more active readers, thinking metacognitively and regulating their own cognitive processes (Baker, 2002). Teachers can also use this procedure as an assessment tool.

This worksheet includes teacher instructions and pertinent questions for students to which they think and respond.
