A simple continuous provision enhancement with the challenge ‘Use your detective skills to read the red words.’ This activity is great for consolidating the teaching of common irregular words.
My children love this challenge, simply print out the resource alongside some magnifying glasses and challenge the children to see if they can read any of the minature words. I often extend this by encouraging them to record the words they can spot.
