Reading Comprehension Activity Book; The Great Plague and Eyam

This book is designed to help students work on their comprehension skills independently, whilst adding to their grammar knowledge and creative writing. Activities are aimed at students between the ages of 9-13.

Each activity requires NO PREP; they have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers.

This Activity Books comes with 4 reading comprehension activities.

This book contains the following reading comprehension activities:

1 – The Great Plague
2 – Eyam
3 – Thomas Stanley
4 – William Mompesson

Answers, for teacher use, are on the final pages of the documents.

Time allowance for each activity (one hour)
5 minutes - read through the text individually.
40 minutes - answer questions using the text as guidance (including extension activity)
15 minutes - Teacher and students go through the text and answers.
