Ultimate Remixing on Logic Pro X Booklet

This booklet is designed with all written and practical work required for an entire scheme of work on Remixing. The remix is based around the song Clash, by Dave and Stormzy, and would be ideal for a year 8 or 9 class with some prior experience on Logic Pro X useful but not essential.

Contents of the booklet are as follows:

• flexible starter pages for retrieval questions.
• Lesson 1: introduction to remixing - learning the melody of Clash by Dave and Stormzy, on the keyboard
• Lesson 2: Learning the bassline and putting together with the melody in a pair. Then using a backing beat on the keyboards with the Bass and Melody (similar to when students move to Logic Pro and use the metronome.
• Lesson 3: Creating my remixes - students develop 3 variations of the melody on the keyboards.
• Lesson 4: (and 5?) Recording my remixes into Logic Pro X.
• Lesson 5/6-8 Multitracking my remix (assessment project) - adding the bass, drums and any other parts which students feel will enhance their remix project. The aim is for students to record all instrumental parts using midi keyboards, and avoiding loops. There are opportunities at this stage for students to explore using note repeat for hi-hats and other more advanced features (in preparation for any sequencing work at KS4)
