Uses of the preterit tense with clue words and questions (Spanish)

Part 1: Read each use of the preterit tense and write the correct letter of the translation of the clue word under each use.

*There are 5 uses. Uses #1-4 will have four clue words and use #5 will have 6 clue words.

Sample:

Ex: Yo hablé con mi amigo ayer.

a. one day / b. the day before yesterday / c. last night / d. yesterday

Part 2: Answer each question in a complete sentence in the preterit tense in Spanish.

*There are 25 questions total with mixed verb types: regular, irregular, spelling change, and stem change.

Sample:

1. ¿Qué hiciste tú ayer? (hacer: to do)

1. ¿Qué buscó Ud. la semana pasada? (buscar: to look for)

Answer key is included on pages 5-6 for part 1 only. For part 2, student answers will vary.
