The first lesson involves students retrieving facts from informational texts about Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona and Pele, and writing these on to a fact sheet. In the second lesson students need to use these facts to write three to four paragraphs about the individual soccer stars. In the third lesson students need to use prompt sheets to write up an introduction and a conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs for mistakes before writing up their work on a neat copy using the template provided.

The activities are perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4. 19 Lessons, or 19 hours of activities, with NO PREP needed! Firstly, there are three reading comprehension activities, or informational texts, about: * Lionel Messi * Diego Maradona * Pele These activities require NO PREP and have a body of text that students need to read through thoroughly; then they can use the text to find the comprehension and grammar answers. All texts then have an extension activity for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document.
