A resource that can be used to show children how to add two numbers together by making 10 first. Give the children an additon number sentence and two groups of different coloured counters. The children can use two different coloured counters to fill the tens frame according to the number sentence. The children need to recognise that a whole tens frame is 10.

One more and one less number mat. One more and one less number ladders differentiated via colours. For example, Green- Easy, Orange- Medium, Red- Hard and Blue- Challenge. All can be laminated and used with whiteboards.
