This Food Technology booklet consists of a range of tasks and covers skills that students will learn at KS3. It includes: Wordsearch Eatwell Plate activity Reading Comprehension task Nutrients table Meal planning schedule Health and safety drawing task Tools and equipment in the food room. This booklet can be used as cover work for multiple lessons, used as a homework booklet or simply used in lesson to help supplement the students current lesson.

A worksheet for children to create their own character, this could be used in KS2 or KS23. The framework could be used in a Literacy lesson or used as an activity in an Art, Graphics or DT lesson. This is an enjoyable task so works really well as a cover sheet. The Keyword on the sheet is Biomimicry which helps to cover some of the DT KS3 National Curriculum. As an extension of this sheet students will often go on to design their characters digitally using design software such as Microsoft Paint, Inkscape or Adobe Illustration depending on ability. Using set times for each part of the design sheet, this worsheet takes at least an hour to complete to a high standard.

A3 Assessment Quiz x 2 This is ideal for KS3 and covers topics such as health and safety, tools, drawing techniques and material properties. Each assessment is marked out of 20. These can be eitehr set for homework or done in lesson.

This lesson is aimed Ks2 and is intended to teach the correct way to use punctuation when writing speech. It also focuses on descriptive and creative writing skills. It is an excellent lesson to see progress from beginning to end and is a great lesson for identifying misconceptions. This resource includes a powerpoint, a detailed lesson plan, a starter and 2 worksheets. I have found this lesson has worked best with year 5 and year 6 but could be used within other year groups depending on ability.

Photoshop Tutorial - In the Style of Banksy I made this booklet to get my Graphic Design Students to create a ‘Banksy style’ piece of Art. This step by step booklet shows students how to: Remove a background from an image Create a mask Add new layers Blend images together using ‘Blending options’ It is a very enjoyable lesson and helps to build student’s confidence when using Photoshop. All students achieved at least one piece of Art and some went on to produce 2 or 3 within an hour lesson. The booklet can be printed or uploaded onto a VLE for students to work through independently. This booklet is ideal for students who have only used photoshop a few times and are fairly new to the program.

Art and Design - This shading task is a great way to help students improve their shading techniques. This lesson works best when techniques are modelled on a visualiser. I have taught this lesson for students aged between 12-16. It is challenging but very enjoyable. This resource include the printable worksheet and and an example of a completed piece

This resource is an A3 Tracker which allows you to track the learning and assess pupils as they move through a Carousel system for KS3 DT. I have designed this for use with a 4 subject rotation (Graphics, Food, Textiles and Product Design) - I have included an example of a near completed one that I currently use. I have also included adapted Assessment trackers to work with a 3 subject rotation as this is most common in Schools that use a Carousel system. These trackers can be glued into students books/folders and skills and grades can be highlighted as they move and progress throughout the year. They include areas to highlight where the assessment focus will be, and a place for students to self access their skills. Feel free to adapt and use to best suit your school.
