This unit is a 5 lesson unit but can be adapted to a two to three week unit easily. There are no additional resource required but could be supplemented with others. It looks at Harry Potter and a wintery Hogwarts problem. This involves a conflict with a foe whether it be a more whimsical approach or a grittier approach the children take their adventure where they would like to. It encompasses the importance of dialogue and description. There is a focus on editing and improving. With the final outcome leading to a iMovie voice over clip which can easily be replicated using Seesaw, Adobe sparks or other application.

In this unit, a 3 week unit, you explore the Reaping Ceremony of the Hunger Games and the outcome is to write a newspaper report announcing the selected tributes. This unit could be completed as part of a whole book study or you could read just the first two chapters. It is suggested that the skills you cover are Perfect verb form Direct and indirect speech Conjunctions and using varying clause structures Following identification and application of the skills the unit dives into drafting, editing and improving their work. There are supporting resources for reading comprehensions and other platforms have been used during our learning journey.
