These resources that can be used for a lesson or two on Eurovision for both Spanish and French classes. Would work particularly well with Y9 and GCSE to get them using more interesting opinions but can be adapted for any year really. It’s good to use for Media/Culture topic (Music) and for writing with opinions. Tasks are differentiated throughout. I have used a variation of this resource many times over the last few years and just changed it each year to make it up to date, it has always gone down really well with students!

Countries match up Spanish-English
Eurovision facts and figures match-up
Quiz about Italy (host country)
Lots of language and culture about Ukraine (last year’s winner)
Interesting linguistic fact followed by linguistic exploration of Cuban slang (This year’s entry for Spanish was born in Cuba) OR of Quebec slang (this year’s entry for France is from Quebec, Canada)
Chance to listen/watch each song entry, students can give each performance a mark out of 12, and then do writing practice using opinions.
