"David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet" Resources
Netflix has released a 1 hour 17 minute (without credits) documentary which focuses on how Sir David Attenborough has witness the planet changing over his life time - some important links are made to key concepts within Ecology unit of the AQA GCSE Biology course.
Attached is a worksheet with questions on for pupils to answer throughout the documentary and a task to summarise their feelings at the end. In addition, I have added the PowerPoint i’ll be using during this double lesson and a follow up task on how pupils can reduce their carbon footprint.
Australian Bushfire Form Activity
A PowerPoint I have made to be delivered during a 20-minute form time, following the delivery of an assembly on the topic.
Netflix: "Cowspiracy" Documentary Worksheet
This resource contains a worksheet (and answer sheet, with answer timings in the documentary) for pupils to complete as they watch the 2014 Netflix documentary “Cowspiracy” - (90-minutes).
The worksheet includes 20 short-answer questions and 4 longer questions (only a few sentences required) which are answered throughout the documentary, to keep students engaged.
I also have a resource for the complimentary Netflix Documentary “Seaspiracy” which focuses on the impact of fishing on the oceans and the Earth as a whole: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12510576
Netflix: "Seaspiracy" Documentary Worksheet
This resource contains a worksheet (and answer sheet, with answer timings in the documentary) for pupils to complete as they watch the 2021 Netflix documentary “Seaspiracy” - (89-minutes).
This fits in nicely with the B18 unit of AQA GCSE Biology, as it discusses sustainable fishing and food security.
The worksheet is split into two parts so that you can watch half the documentary in one lesson, and half the next. It includes 30 short-answer questions throughout the documentary to keep students engaged.
WARNING: There’s a scene which some students may find upsetting (shows the killing of whales) from 1:13:00-1:20:00.
I also have a resource for the complimentary Netflix Documentary “Cowspiracy” which focuses on the impact of farming on the Earth: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/resource-12517946
