Literacy Learning Ladder curriculum guide

(0)
This learning ladder is to help inform planning; giving suggestions of stories, facts, ideas and skills to help pupils develop a range of knowledge and abilities, and a wide vocabulary, for improved understanding and progress in English literacy. The purpose of the Learning Ladder is to help ensure pupils develop a wide range of useful subject knowledge, general knowledge and academic skills which will enable them to make strong progress at all stages, and succeed to the best of their individual ability in primary, secondary school and beyond. The skills suggested for each Key Stage are a sample selection of those most essential for progression in literacy and are the ones which often hamper confidence and progress in later Key Stages when they are insufficiently developed. This resource will allow teachers to develop a fully sequenced and well thought out curriculum for the teaching of English Literacy.
