General RE Booklet Bundle

**These are booklets used in Catholic General RE for Year 12. ** Our Course is designed around Pope Francis’ encyclical ‘Fratelli Tutti.’ In his letter to all humans in the world the Pope asks us to unite as a brotherhood to end suffering and injustice and act as the good Samaritan to all of our neighbours. The booklets are centred around the following topics & films: Blood Diamond/Modern Day Slavery I Daniel Blake/Poverty/Christmas & Consumerism Hotel Rwanda/Genocide/Holocuast Memorial Day Selma/Fraternity & Racism Dead Man Walking/Capital Punishment This bundle contains the booklets only for a years worth of General RE lessons. These lessons are predominantly taught from the booklets alongside collective worship. You can find last years Holocaust Memorial Day Liturgy for free in a separate resource to download, this is referenced in booklet 3. The booklets include question and answers, articles and spaces to jot down notes. Lots of the lessons centre around discussion from the booklets. Please note the 6th term is not included as we complete alternative activities during this half term. Alongside these booklets we have historically arranged guest speakers, in particular I would highly reccomend Amnesty International if you are based in the North East of England.

This lesson explores the Talmud, it is designed to follow on from our lesson on the Tenakh. The Spec outlines that the Tenakh and Talmlud should be taught and applied to daily life in the ‘Practices’ unit. However, we planned this lesson to open the ‘Beliefs and Teachings’ unit and we can then explore how it is used in daily life throughout both units. We feel it is important that students understand the difference between the Christian Bible and the Talmud before applying them to Jewish teachings. The lesson focuses on the parts of the Talmud, it builds up to a C (Explain) and D (Discuss) Includes: starter slide (date/title, thinking task, flipped research homework) retrieval starter quiz with answers key words video clip sharing info true/false learning check exam practice b question - with full answer exam practice d question, already planned for students to expand challenge questions ‘packaway’ plenary Feedback is always appreciated. We use these with our exam classes in the lead up to their final exams! We recommend printing them on nice card, certificate paper or laminating them - just doing something to make them a little bit special! We also put them in an envelope and present them to the students as part of one of our lessons! Although time is golden in year 11, making a bit of fuss and getting the students motivated pays off in the long run! Although the format took only a minute or two to make they are time consuming to put together but it is well worth the effort! Feedback is always appreciated. Therefore, if you leave a review we will send you a free resource as a show of our appreciation.
