The British Metals Recycling Association is the trade association for the UK metal recycling industry. Metal recycling is the original green industry. From the rag & bone men of the past to the international recycling companies of today the industry recovers, recycles & enables the reuse of many millions of tonnes of metal every year. In the process we reduce the amount of valuable material going to landfill, whilst radically reducing the amount of energy used & the environmental damage caused by the mining of ore for new metal. Metals & Me: the metal recycling education project, is an exciting resource for teaching geography in secondary schools.
