Year 6 SATs Mental Arithmetic Paper Autumn 1
A Year 6 mental arithmetic paper (40 marks) with answers. It follows the 2016 SATs format and is based on the Autumn Term curriculum.
2014 Curriculum Year 1 to Year 6 Writing and Reading target sheets
Reading and Writing targets sheets. These are designed as one page per year group in ascending order from Year 1 to Year 6. All fit to the 2014 curriculum and Year 2/Year 6 writing exemplifications 2016.
They have been colour coded for the different sections of English as follows (although some may fall into two categories):
Yellow – Spelling
Green – Handwriting
Orange – Composition
Blue – Grammar and Punctuation
Purple – Reading
You can print these directly onto labels (21 per sheet) and then they can be easily stuck into books/reading records etc.

There are 5 mental arithmetic papers which get progressively harder (in line with the curriculum) to match the Year 6 SATs expectations. They are in the same format as the Year 6 SATs with mark schemes and answers.

Lacrosse PE Planning Year 5 or Year 6 (Beginners)
A 6-week plan to teach Lacrosse skills to upper key stage 2. It starts with the children having little or no prior knowledge of Lacrosse and ends with a game of Pop Lacrosse (teams of 5). The unit could easily suit Year 5 or Year 6 and explains how to do some of the basic skills required for Pop Lacrosse.
Year 5 Guided Reading Planner
A proforma for Guided Reading with all the Year 5 objectives down the side and examples of key questions in the top box. Insert children's names in the columns and then record comments and question answers during a guided reading session. This is a word document so you can edit out my questions at the top (they are just an example) and change to suit the book you are using.
Compare and Sequence Intervals of Time Year 2
Three differentiated sheets about comparing and ordering intervals of time. The lower and middle activity focus mainly on hours and minutes. The higher activity includes seconds as an additional challenge.
Comprehension Text - A Child's Thought poem by RL Stevenson
A PowerPoint activity with some shared comprehension questions with a follow-up comprehension sheet of questions and answers about the poem. The questions are based around VIPERS (see Literacy Shed website).
This activity has been used with an able Year 2 class but could also be used for Year 3.
What is Pink? Classic Poetry English Planning Christina Rossetti
A week long unit on the classic poem What is Pink? by Christina Rossetti The unit helps children to understand classic poetry by introducing the poem in a way which they can easily understand. The children are asked to explore the theme of colour, read and discuss the poem as well as answer comprehension questions and then plan and write their own verses in a similar style.
All resources are included such as planning sheets, comprehension questions and sheets and templates for writing.
It could be easily adapted for Foundation Stage, Year 1 or Year 2.

A lesson plan with a detailed PPT to teach how to add 2-digit numbers and 1-digit numbers. Fluency and reasoning worksheets to practise the skill. Aimed at Year 2 curriculum and linked to White Rose.
The Tyger Classic Poetry English Plans
A 5 day plan for classic poetry based on the poem The Tyger by William Blake. This has originally be used with a Year 5 class (9-10 year olds) but could be adapted for other ages. It introduces the poem to the children in an accessible way and then encourages short and longer writing opportunities.
All resources are included as well as an annotated version of the poem to analyse the language and structure.

All resources are included such as planning sheets, comprehension PPT and sheets and templates for writing.
It has been used with an able Year 2 class and would also work for a Year 3 class.
