Mental Wellbeing Time Out Cards
These have been made as a response to my SEN classes. Often, my students will get wound up in class and they need to take time outside. Telling them this can sometimes lead to confrontation as they believe they are in trouble so I made these as a way of communicating to them subtly and to allow them to quickly tell senior members of staff why they are outside. You will need to change the text, obviously.
Self-Assessment Poster
These are designed to help students check back over their work before they claim they are finished. DUTE is a class acronym in my classes. It means Date Underlined with the Title and the Entrance task. The box underneath is a guide to what they should do instead of shouting out. The top, middle box is a criteria they should check every piece of work against. The left side of the line is to help with creative writing and the right side is to help with analytical writing. It may require differentiation for your classes as this is based on the needs of my classes.
Whole Class Marking Document
Document to be used when marking a whole class set of work. This aims to help focus on: what has work, what hasn’t, common mistakes and star students.

Twelve Days of Christmas - Dystopia
This lesson was created at the end of a Year 9 module on dystopian fiction and creative writing. It features a modelled example of The Twelve Days of Star Wars, differentiated learning objectives, a challenge, and an extension task.
The main task is based on them having previously studied The Maze Runner and having created their own dystopia, although this can, obviously, be changed.
