The Curiosity Project Book allows children to have total freedom and complete control over their learning journey. We have purposefully designed it this way. They simply choose a topic that really interests them and use the learning prompts to complete their project. Our aim is that it inspires a thirst for knowledge, fosters self-motivated learning and encourages independence.
The Curiosity Project Book has been designed to largely be a ‘blank canvas’. We’d love your child to add to borders, to doodle as they think, to colour in their pictures and add whatever creative splashes of colour they feel like. It is theirs to personalise and we hope this gives them a sense of ownership and pride in their work. The activities can be completed in any order but it would make sense to end with the presentation once your child has had a good chance to fully explore their topic.

We (of course) advocate thoroughly researching any game before agreeing to your child playing it. In particular it is important to ensure the parental controls and safeguarding options are utilised as well as making sure your child understands how to be safe online. Many games offer the option to play offline, in a realm or using a private server. Those that don’t usually have the option to limit how your child can interact with others (for example by disabling chat features).
Magnificent me is a hands-on Early Years Curriculum to support children as they develop their numeracy skills. This beautifully bright activity pack has been created specifically for younger children. We believe that learning should predominantly be through play, which this pack actively encourages.
What’s inside the Magnificent Me Early Years Maths Activity Pack?
We have developed this pack with the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework in mind so that the activities help children develop in these key areas of learning:
• communication and language
• physical development
• personal, social and emotional development
• literacy
• mathematics
• understanding the world
• expressive arts and design
Magnificent Me focuses on encouraging and developing early numeracy skills, which includes developing a strong grounding in number. There are lots of activities to help with counting confidently, developing a deep understanding of the numbers to 10, learning about the relationships between them and the patterns within those numbers. For young children repetition is key, so you will find lots of opportunities for children to repeat and cement their understanding in this pack. The key concepts that the activities in this pack will help your child develop and explore are:
Comparing
Patterning
Ordering
Counting
Parts and wholes
Numbers and symbols
Data handling
Observation
Problem solving
Language
Number sense
Spatial awareness
Shapes
Classification
What age is the Magnificent Me Early Years Maths Activity Pack suitable for?
As a rough guide we’d recommend it for ages 3-7. We have created this pack so that it is suitable from the point your child is experimenting with counting, mark making and is able to verbally communicate their thoughts and ideas. Children at this early stage will need adult support as is appropriate for them. If there are parts you feel they are not yet ready for, simply skip or adapt them. It’s a great resource to return to time and time again. Children really benefit from repetition as they are acquiring new skills so you can repeat activities as desired. There will likely be big differences in a child’s response to a task a year apart. The pack also becomes a special keepsake of your child’s development.
Magnificent Me is ideal for preschool and reception age children and depending on the individual child, they should be able to do lots independently. The activities are designed to prompt discussion and to be adaptable for different children. For example if your child is not yet writing you could scribe their ideas. Another child may be able to copy something you have written or trace your writing, others will be able to write independently.

Of course there will be younger children who play the game and may well enjoy the pack.
