Here are some game I made for a whole class phonics session. Since the children were all at different levels, we looked at the sound we all know in different ways such as alien words or speed reading No laminating needed! Either print one per group or pair or display on the board and let the children play with the interactive board pen :)

Year 1 National Curriculum Objectives

In my classroom, I plan to have a learning focus wall with key vocabulary, exemplar work and… the national curriculum objective. I feel it’s important know that we’re sitting for 20 minutes a day practicing how to join the letters ay because we have to. With the curriculum objective on the wall for them to see, the children know what we’re working towards and are able to assess their progress. These curriculum objectives are: split into the different ‘topics’ stated in the national curriculum and colour coded rewritten in kid speak where needed but otherwise use the wording from the curriculum Landscape A4 to allow you to easily display them on your wall. This download includes the English, Maths and Science Curriculum Aims for Year 1 in a PDF and just need printing and laminating ready to display! Please note, I am working on a low colour and black and white version as well as editable versions to change the wording to suit you.

Here are my job application forms to match my classroom jobs! These application forms include the skills required, the salary in Dojo Points and space for children to write why they think they’re good for the job but are editable for you to add your own description of the job. Jobs included in this resource: Water Bottle News Reporter Register Monitor Lunch Counter Class Librarian Chair Stacker Morning Greeter Mail Person Eco Team Teaching Assistant Photographer Messenger Line Leader Tech Team Class Leader I am using these in my classroom to emphasise the importance of the jobs and their role in the classroom as well as get the children excited about the chance to be a part of the class! To use this resource, simply click in the black box and start typing! I recommend saving the finished document as a PDF file and then printing them all 2 to a page. Keep these as originals and then you can photocopy as many as you need. I’m also introducing the jobs to my class first and making these forms available for the children to fill in and hand in whenever they want!

I’m rolling out all the hits today! My Timetable Cards… but editable!! I realised that my cards were a bit… limited considering that I made them for my classroom so here are an editable version so you can add all the little bits that are unique to your classroom. Include in this download are a range of icons including those used in my original timetable card download as well as some others that may be useful to you. Basically, if it looked vaguely like I could use it in a timetable, I included it. Another print on card, laminate and cut resource, this can be ready for your classroom in no time!

The Bad Seed - Reputation Lesson

Looking for an activity for the first week of school? This is a lesson PPT, Lesson plan and resources I used for a PSHE lesson I did for an interview (I got the job!) The lesson was on the book The Bad Seed and focuses on reputation. I use this for transition day for any children who may have been label as ‘the bad kid’ in their current year group to let them know that their year with me is an opportunity for a fresh start. In this download, you will find the lesson PowerPoint I used as well as the resources I created to accompany it. As the children worked on a resource I amended from a product purchased from Teachers Pay Teachers, that resources has been linked on the first page of the RESOURCES file as well as links to the book or an read aloud on Youtube. This resources was used with a Year 3 class but it easily adaptable for any year group.
