I am developing a full range of theory lessons to support the new AQA design technology GCSE starting in 2017. There are 30 lessons that are taught 1 a week throughout Y10. Each lesson has learning objectives, starter/bell task, content (GIF’s used to support learning), plenary and summary slides in PowerPoint. I have also included a fully supported student handout which includes homework questions and summative assessment section. To support the theory lessons I have uploaded, please download my pupil tracker sheet. As well as theory lessons I have uploaded project/skills learning journeys that can be easily customised to the projects you are delivering. I have developed this complete PP for delivery with the new EDEXCEL A Level Coursework. It has links to exam board marking criteria, deadline dates, support documents and examples (links will not work, can email them) to ensure pupils are able to access each section easily.

This is a PowerPoint that contains 55 starter/bell tasks. It has been designed to be delivered alongside the new AQA DT GSCE. One can be selected each lesson to support/refresh understanding of theory topics that have already been covered in Y10. I also have a full NEA template available and complete scheme of work/lesson plans to cover the 55 lesson project.

This is a small wood based project that gives pupils an introduction to wood work whilst developing isometric sketching and Photoshop presentation skills. I use this as part of the new AQA GCSE DT course. It includes all resources needed to deliver successfully. I have produced a set of 40 starter/bell tasks that are to be used during the delivery of Unit 3, responding to an Engineering Brief. the aim is to refresh the theory content that has been delivered earlier in the course. I have produced a full set of resources to support this course, including a Scheme of Work, theory lessons, assignment briefs and exam/skills development available in my TES shop.

I have produced a lesson aimed at improving pupils performance during the new 9-1 AQA DT exam. It is hoped that it will help build confidence prior to the summer exam. Pupils will need to select materials and manufacturing processes for a range of products and be able to justify their selection. I have produced a lesson aimed at improving pupils performance during Section C of the new 9-1 AQA DT exam. I have based it heavily on the structure of the SAM that was released. It is hoped that it will help build pupils confidence prior to the summer exam. I have based this question on a car booster seat, however it would be easy to modify it for any number of other products. I have not included a marking scheme for this. I have created a lesson to help improve the exam technique of pupils sitting the new 9-1 AQA DT exam in the summer. It draws on the performance of my pupils in their Mock Exam (we used the SAM material for this). I have included a simple worksheet that will allow pupils to record each of the seven techniques that are outlined. Having delivered this lesson pupils should be asked to go through their mock exam papers again and use the techniques to improve their marks.
