Le Formulaire
Leaving Cert Ordinary Level Form.
This resource is a 24 page step-by-step workbook on every aspect of answering the formulaire. It includes all the questions which have come up since 2009 with sample answers, tips and space for students to practice themselves.
Ideal for anyone who wants to clearly teach an ordinary level class, anyone with higher and ordinary level in the one class as the students could almost direct themselves, or any student studying OL French on their own as an additional subject.
Worksheet would form the basis of one to two weeks classwork and homework depending on class.
Leaving Certificate French Comprehension Grammar Questions
This powerpoint goes through how to recognise the different grammatical aspects which are asked in the LC HL comprehensions, what to write for your answer, and goes through all the questions from 2011-2022. It includes the question, the text, clues and the marking scheme, so that you can work through them together with your class.
In LC HL French, each comprehension has a grammar question. This is worth 5 marks (1.25% each or 2.5% of your French grade for the two questions). It can ask you to find a particular tense, grammatical term, a synonym or what word ‘it’ is referring to, etc.
This resource has colourful templates to help students focus on some of the main aspects of their LC French oral. The templates focus on l’avenir, mon quartier, une journée typique and the tenses. The templates are blank so that stusents can fill in their own notes.
This PDF resource contains 6 colourful, printable posters to help students revise some of the key aspects of the LC 2023 French Oral, including the three main topics and the three tenses.
I think we’re all a bit confused about what exactly we NEED to cover for the JC MFL exam in June. I’m just a teacher with no extra departmental or SEC insight but from looking at the LO this is the checklist I plan to use with my students to try best prepare them. It’s not exhaustive. If anyone has suggestions for other items they would include of leave out I’d love to hear them
This is an ideal first class lesson with students who are only beginning to learn the language. I t covers introductions, some basic classroom phrases and how to use a dictionary.
This complete overview of the present tense is perfect for Leaving Certificate students to bring them on in their study of French grammar. It consists of a complete handout and powerpoint which includes pretesting of JC work, comprehensive explanations, level appropriate vocab, exercises and even teacher only comments on the powerpoint that would particularly be of use to NQTs or teachers new to teaching French.
