Answering these questions correctly will reveal some hidden letters which need to be unscrambled to reveal the second word. In Task 3 students will sort 27 timeline task cards about the ancient civilization, putting them in order from the earliest date to the most recent. When they have finished their third word will be revealed. In Task 4 students will have to find the missing words in a wordsearch puzzle before finding a hidden word from the letters that are left over in the puzzle. This is a biography writing unit about the life and career of the National Youth Poet Laureate and reader of ‘The Hill We Climb’ during the 2021 Inauguration of Joe Biden, Amanda Gorman. The unit has been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. The Google Slides activity is ideal for distance learning and perfect for students in Year 3 or Year 4 learning about famous sport stars or basketball. When downloaded this resource includes a printable version of the activity and a PDF with a link that allows you to copy the Google Slides document and save it in your Google Drive. The first lesson is interactive and involves students reading facts, and then sorting and ordering these facts into paragraphs. In the second lesson the children need to use these facts to type four paragraphs. Then, in the third lesson they need to choose the most important facts and include these in an introduction; after this they need to answer several questions before typing up their conclusion. In the final lesson your class will need to check their draft paragraphs before typing up their work on to the template provided.
