Each of the eight individual resources includes posters or task cards that timeline the key events and periods from the ancient civilizations. The timelines can be used individually to give your students knowledge about one particular civilization, or together to give your students a wide knowledge of how the civilizations interconnected, with key figures and events linking them together in history. The research and sorting activities are differentiated into two levels: with dates and without dates. Lower level students can sort the events using the dates, whilst higher level students can research the dates online before sorting the timeline. Perfect for students in upper key stage 2 studying Ancient History or religions such as Judaism and Christianity. There are 38 posters or cards that include many of the key events from the time period. Secondly, there is a reading comprehension activity - children need to read through an informational text, and then answer comprehension and grammar questions, before completing an extension activity. This now comes with a crossword activity to consolidate learning. Finally, there is an informational text writing unit. The unit has been split into three separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Eight individual Women’s History Escape Room activities about the following famous figures from history: Frida Kahlo Rosa Parks Amelia Earhart Katherine Johnson Queen Elizabeth II Mae Jemison Cleopatra Sacagawea Ideal for upper key stage 2, the activities are perfect for group work, Women’s History Month, team-building activities or for fun, engaging and interactive lessons. The activities can be used in English also as they incorporate some ELA skills, or in Social Studies. Each activity has been split into four different tasks; your students will need to complete each of the tasks to reveal a word. Together the four words make a phrase for them to escape the room. All texts then have an extension activity, a crossword and a wordsearch for those fast finishers. Answers, for teacher use, are on the final page of each document. Then, there are two biography writing units about Moses and Abraham. The units have been split into four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each. Then, there is an informational writing unit about the Ancient Hebrews. The unit has again been split into three or four separate lessons which will take students approximately 40-50 minutes each.
